Usually I use rulers or squared paper to make sure my designs are regular - though I also usually draw the lines themselves free hand, perhaps to give them a more human touch. So I decided to go one step further and draw some entirely freehand - very abstract but very human.

These were originally drawn for notelets that I gave as Christmas presents. If you print out the picture in the bottom right hand quarter of an A4 sheet, you can fold the paper into four to make a notelet or card. They look good printed on brightly coloured paper.

One of the small pleasures of my life is an appreciation of beautiful letter shapes - but I suppose I have a hippy desire to make it personal - freehand - so here are some bits of caligraphy. I printed them out on thin card to make prayer cards.
